FitzGerald implies that Tennyson is negligent in answering letters, and then inquires about Tennyson's health, his travel plans and the whereabouts of various common acquaintances. -- Letter to George Crabbe (vicar of Merton, Norfolk, and grandson of the poet of the same name), [1871] May 23, Woodbridge. FitzGerald discusses the sale of his boat and his wife's (Lucy Barton) correspondence regarding "settlement money." -- Letter of 1872 Aug. 13, Woodbridge, concerning the inscription for a stone to commemorate the Battle of Naseby, June 1645. FitzGerald discusses the type of stone desired and writes out a proposed inscription. Transcription available.
